HOW TO MAKE YOUR MILES MATTER

Event Details: FAQ

MARCH INTO MAY 2021

With mass events not being possible in the first half of 2021 and following on from the success of Doddie Aid. 


Ross Sutherland Rugby Club have created March into May taking place from the 28th March â€“ 1st May 2021. Keep checking our Facebook page and here for more details.

The money you raise will be split 50:50 with half going towards RSRFC's new club house and half being donated to My Name'5 Doddie. 

HOW DO I REGISTER?

There are a few steps to get yourself registered.

​

1. Fill out our registration form and pay for your entry.

​

2. We will then arrange for delivery (or collection) of your Limited Edition snood!

​

3. Set up your JustGiving page, making sure you link to our Ross Sutherland Rugby Club campaign and your team.

​

4. Link your Strava account to your JustGiving page to help log your miles.  

​

5. Share! Share! Share!  Get your JustGiving link shared so that family, friends and colleagues can start donating.  

​

Don't forget to tag us in on your posts so we can help to like, share and comment on your progress. 

WHAT ACTIVITIES CAN I DO?

You can run, walk, swim, cycle, jump or even dance your miles; it is entirely up to you.  The only requests we make is:


Your activity should take place within your local area in line with Government guidelines.

Do not meet in large groups to undertake your activities; keep within the Covid safe rules.

​

Get active and remember to log all your miles.


Raise as much money as you can but remember, raising awareness is also hugely important so share your story and your progress. 


Most important of all....have fun!!!!  

WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE MONEY I RAISE?

The donations you raise will automatically be paid to us through JustGiving.  

​

Once the event is completed and all donations are in, we will then arrange for the 50% to be sent on to My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. 

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE STRAVA?

Don't worry if you do not have Strava, you can register for a free version, or you can log your miles manually.  If you are taking part as a family, please ensure you log everyone's miles.  *You can download this form to log your miles manually as a back up**

IS THIS A FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT?

Absolutely!  Ross Sutherland is an inclusive rugby club and we want to welcome participants of all ages to join in our March into May challenge.  

​

At least one member of your household needs to be registered for the event and create a JustGiving page on behalf of your family.  

​

You can then include information in the 'story' area of JustGiving explaining who is all taking part.  Don't forget to add family pictures and updates as you progress through the challenge.  

​

Additional snoods can be purchased for family members however these will be at an additional cost. 

BOOST YOUR DONATION BY 25P OF GIFT AID FOR EVERY £1 YOU DONATE AT NO EXTRA COST TO YOU!

If you are a UK taxpayer you can give us permission to claim Gift Aid on any gifts of money you may make to Ross Sutherland Rugby Club.

However, if you pay less Income Tax & Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of your donations across all Charities, it is your responsibility to pay any difference. Gift Aid is reclaimed by Ross Sutherland Rugby Club from the tax you pay for the current tax year.

Please note:

You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying us in writing/by email.

If in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and capital gains equal to the tax that all charities reclaim, you can cancel your declaration.

If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self-Assessment tax return.

If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief, please refer to the HMRC website

Please notify us immediately if you change your name or address.
